Frequently Asked Questions

What is your training philosophy?

We use a balanced , research-backed approach. We begin by rewarding desirable behaviors. As training progresses, we introduce clear corrections to address unwanted behavior while continuing to verbally reward desirable behaviors. Recognizing that each dog is unique, we tailor our approach to suit individual temperaments and learning styles to give you and your dog the best results.

What type of training will my dog receive?

We offer a variety of training option from private in-home sessions to board-and-train programs. Programs are designed to address a variety of goals and will be tailored to suit you and your dogs needs. We use dog-centered training methods which allows us to build a positive bond with your dog and customize training to meet your dog's unique needs.

Please see our Training Programs section for more information on what programs we offer and what each program covers.

What qualifications do you have as trainers?

Levi and Hannah have years of experience working with dogs including studying college courses in dog psychology, working and mentoring with other successful trainers, volunteering in shelters, working at boarding facilities, and continuing education through seminars and workshops to stay up to date on advanced training methods.

Yes! We are more than happy to provide a list of references. Please email us at realresultscanine@gmail.com to request this information.

How old does my dog need to be to go through one of your board and train programs?

The ideal age to start is around 5-6 months depending on the maturity of your puppy. We recommend doing a free in-home evaluation first so we can better assess your dog's needs and get you in the program that best suits your goals.

If your puppy is younger than 5 months, we offer an introduction to obedience session that is conducted in-home during which we will cover foundational information and training that are important for puppies’ development.

For older dogs, they should be in overall good health and not showing signs of health concerns like arthritis. (We have had dogs as old as 9 years go through our training!)

See our Training Programs section for more information.

Which training program is best for my dog?

Our programs vary depending on your goals for your dog, your dog’s maturity, and your dog’s behavioral concerns. We recommended a free in-home evaluation first so we can point you in the right direction. Book a free call to learn more!
